EQUIGENES / API
API and MCP for AI assistants
EquiGenes provides public, read-only tools. No API key or account is required. Tools calculate an estimate or read published statistics; they do not change data.
Connect with MCP
In an MCP-compatible client, add this remote server URL:
https://www.equi-genes.com/api/mcpThe endpoint supports current MCP clients using protocol 2026-07-28 as well as clients using the previous initialize handshake. It exposes two read-only tools: calculate_coat_probabilities and list_horse_country_statistics.
HTTP API
Calculate a mating
POST /api/probabilities
Content-Type: application/json
{
"dam": { "mode": "phenotype", "coat": "Palomino" },
"sire": { "mode": "phenotype", "coat": "Bai" },
"locale": "fr"
}Each parent can be entered by observed coat or full genotype. For coat-only inputs, compatible genotypes receive equal weights. The response includes coat probabilities and a per-locus calculation trace.
Country statistics
GET /api/countries?sortBy=horsesPer1000&direction=desc&language=frSort by name, horseCount, or horsesPer1000. The dataset covers the 143 countries and areas with reported 2024 horse values. Sources and limitations are included in the response and on the Guide page.

Model limitations
The calculator uses a simplified Mendelian model and does not account for breed- or bloodline-specific allele frequencies. It is not a substitute for genetic testing or veterinary advice. Country statistics reflect their stated years and sources; they do not describe coat-color frequencies.
